Angkor
Cambodia
Angkor, Cambodia was once the center of the Khmer Empire that flourished from the 9th to 15th centuries. This once magnificent city was considered at its apex during the rule of Khmer Hindu monarch, Jayavarman II who considered himself a god-king. His face can be seen in rock sculptures all over the Angkor temple complex.
The ruins of Angkor are located in dense forest, buzzing with the sounds of insects and other creatures. Trees take root between building blocks in an attempt to reclaim the ancient temples.
